Lebanon Hills

Minneapolis has been seeing a fantastic fall. Plenty of sunshine, little rain and temperatures regularly above 60F. If you like fall colors and dislike humidity, this has been the month for you. And it looks to continue.

Seeing the colors change around Minneapolis proper, Audra and I wanted to get in a hike to enjoy fall before it transforms into winter. Lebanon Hills in the south metro was our target destination. The best part: it’s just a 20-minute drive from our house in South Minneapolis.

The geography of the park is comprised of grassy fields; forests of aspen, pine and oak; and is speckled with kettle lakes. A trail systems winds its way around trees and over hills, perfect for hiking and mountain biking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. We chose to hike.

Rather than write much about it, I’ll share some photos. It really was a perfect day.
